Instagram content opportunities for the existing Grant Bird Woodworks demo

Open the updated demo · Content shortlist · Wix CMS plan · Grant questionnaire · Full reference inventory

Preview-level audit, not a complete account audit. The public profile and 21 thumbnails were visually assessed; 36 post references and rendered posting dates were recorded. Full captions, reels, carousel interiors and Reviews highlight contents required sign-in and were not reviewed. No complete before/during/after sequence is verified. Conclusions below distinguish observations from candidates. No inference is made from Instagram’s machine-generated object labels.

The useful discovery

The Instagram profile explicitly identifies fitted furniture and flooring, alongside bespoke carpentry and doors, and names Southampton. Repeated cabinetry previews give fitted furniture stronger support than the original website’s largely empty Services section. Workshop, installation and door-making previews also communicate the process more clearly than the website’s finished photographs alone.

This does not establish a wider service area, current availability, qualifications, technical specification or ownership of the images. Public posts dated through 5 September 2026 indicate recent posting activity; they do not prove when the work was completed. The original website gallery has no verified completion chronology, so “newer projects” cannot be asserted.

Website vs Instagram content gap analysis

DimensionExisting websiteInstagram evidence / opportunityDecision
Service clarityServices heading without visible service descriptions; testimonials establish kitchens, panelling, media walls and doors.Profile explicitly names fitted furniture and flooring; multiple cabinetry previews.Add fitted furniture with source and scope caveat. Note flooring without a new dedicated service promise.
Finished photographyReal but heavily cropped photographs behind testimonials.23 May media-wall preview shows more compositional context.Add as supporting service image. Keep original hero; a compressed vertical reel cover is not automatically a better hero.
RecencyNo verified project chronology.Visible post dates extend to September 2026.Show posting dates only. Do not claim completion recency.
Craft and complexityTimber-frame hero, little explanation.Door-making, cabinetry fitting, geometric-table Part 1/Part 2.Add curated workshop section and an explicitly provisional table story.
Personal trustCustomer feedback conveys care; no verified personal biography.People appear working at benches and in rooms.Use installation content, not an identified Grant portrait. Identity must be confirmed.
CommunityGrant’s written DIY SOS account and fundraiser mention.Group-photo candidate; caption and event identity unavailable.Keep existing textual treatment. Add no new programme facts, branding or imagery.
Customer storiesThree genuine named testimonials.Captions and comments unavailable in this session. No new customer names or reviews and no inferred testimonial-to-Instagram links.

Potential case studies

  1. Geometric table: highest distinctiveness. A provisional detail experience now pairs the 3 and 4 September 2025 previews, labels the relationship as a visual inference, and leaves brief, materials and result unconfirmed. The two post labels do not establish construction chronology.
  2. Tall fitted cabinetry: strong process material in 3 August 2026. Request a room-wide finished view and original customer need. June’s cabinetry remains a separate candidate unless Grant links it.
  3. Under-stair storage: 3 February 2026 preview suggests a useful storage story. Need the original space, requested use and approved technical detail.
  4. Media wall: 23 May 2026 is the strongest inspected finished-detail candidate. Need before/installation photographs and confirmation of who designed and completed which parts.
  5. Shaker-style doors: 29 July 2026 is suited to a short craftsmanship feature. A full case study needs a verified link to a specific finished project.

No sufficient caption evidence was available to write a factual customer-requirement → construction → result narrative. Missing fields remain “Project detail to be confirmed with Grant”.

Content not recommended for this revision

Ownership and permissions

The five selected images appear on Grant’s account and show work/process content consistent with the business, but that does not establish that Grant photographed them or owns all reuse rights. Their classification is account-published; apparent own-work context; authorship unverified. Customer-provided, professional, collaborative, reposted and supplier content cannot be reliably distinguished without captions, credits or originals. Every imported image carries Image/content reuse permission requires confirmation.

Obtain original files, photographer/rights-holder details, customer/property consent where applicable and permission from identifiable people. For video, check music and third-party rights separately. Use approved stills rather than downloading soundtrack-bearing reels into the website. Store private permission evidence separately from public project data. No commercial reuse clearance is claimed by this demo.

Wix CMS content recommendations

Retain the visual direction and build it with Wix Studio sections, repeaters and a reusable dynamic project template. This local prototype is a design reference, not an importable Wix theme. Wix supports a collection-driven dynamic list and dynamic item page, so projects need not be constructed manually.

Questions for Grant

  1. Which three projects best represent the work you want more of? In particular, should fitted furniture, media walls or bespoke one-off furniture lead?
  2. Do the table posts labelled Part 1 and Part 2, and the existing website’s frame photograph, show the same piece? Was it commissioned, personal or a demonstration? What was the brief?
  3. For the 3 August cabinetry, 3 February storage and 23 May media wall, can you provide original before, installation and finished photographs plus the key customer requirement?
  4. Which selected images/videos did you create? Who owns the others, and do we have website permission from the photographer, customer and people pictured?
  5. Who is pictured in the selected installation/workshop posts? Which approved portrait or at-work photograph would you choose for About Grant?
  6. Can any of the existing Govina, Sarah or Claudia testimonials be reliably linked to these Instagram projects? What name/location disclosure is approved?
  7. Your profile lists flooring and fitted furniture. Are both current priorities, and are there older types of work you no longer want to promote?
  8. Which geographical areas do you actively want enquiries from? For case studies, which town-level locations may be used?
  9. What happens from first enquiry through site visit, design, quotation and installation? Which details demonstrate your particular approach?
  10. Should any indicative budget ranges be public? If so, for which precisely defined scopes and with what qualifications?
  11. For the group-photo/community material, what is the event, your specific contribution and the rights/credit position? What is the current status of the half-marathon fundraiser?

These questions target missing editorial and permission information. The account name, stated Southampton base and listed profile services need not be rediscovered.

Exactly what changed in the demo

  1. Added a three-item “From the workshop” homepage section: cabinetry installation, shaker-door making and table-frame story. Added the requested profile follow link; no automatic feed.
  2. Added a fitted-furniture service description supported by explicit bio wording and repeated cabinetry previews. Flooring is acknowledged as profile-listed, with scope still unconfirmed.
  3. Added the May 2026 media-wall preview as a supporting Services image with no invented specification or testimonial linkage.
  4. Added one provisional geometric-table story to Projects, with a dedicated detail route and two dated source-linked previews. Existing three verified-testimonial project filters remain unchanged; the unconfirmed story is visibly separate.
  5. Added an About process section using the installation preview, with identity and reuse caveats rather than claiming an identified portrait of Grant.
  6. Added this report to concept notes and the footer, plus a machine-readable source/asset register.
  7. Retained the original hero, brand, navigation, genuine testimonials, community text and local-only form. No new community imagery, ratings, customer names, materials, prices or service areas.

Audit reference inventory

Rows 1–21 have visual observations; the remaining references were exposed by the public grid but not visually assessed in sufficient detail. No row represents a full reel/caption review. Some older posts appear out of date order, so grid position was not used to infer chronology.

Source and access record

Instagram profile, public rendered grid and thumbnails, 20 September 2026. Individual content opening displayed a sign-in request. Comparison uses the existing website inspected in the preceding phase on the same date, and the unchanged local source record. No new live-site edit, account creation, enquiry, donation or contact occurred. Wix references above are official documentation checked on the review date.

Next research step: review full captions/reels in a user-authorised signed-in session or supplied export, confirm project associations, then replace preview covers with approved originals. This audit remains partial until that step.
